The international Chamber of Shipping Association and The international Transport Worker’s Federation have written a letter to Group of 20 authorities to arrange crew change facilities to keep the worldwide trade moving.

There are nearly 1.2 million seafarers working in sea and every month 100000 are to be rotated. Coronavirus pandemic has made crew changing a serious issue for the shipping industry. ICS and ITF requested co- operation between UN, Countries and Airlines to make crew changes possible to maintain the shipping industry operations without any hindrance.

ICS and ITF have expressed grave concern over the thousands of crews whose contracts ended but have been forced to remain in ships for additional period.
