At least 21 Indian Navy Personnel tested for COVID-19 Virus

Over 21 Indian navy people have tested positive for COVID-19 today at Mumbai. All of them are working in INS Angre.

INS Angre is a shore based logistics and supply establishment of Western naval command. The affected personnel are admitted in INHA Asvini, a naval hospital in Colaba, Mumbai.

All the infected personnel are resided at accommodation block at INS Angre. Now INS Angre is under lockdown according to sources. This is the first time the Indian Navy is hit with COVID- 19. Most of the cases are asymptomatic and have been traced to a single sailor who was tested positive on April 7.

“There are no cases of Infection onboard ships and submarines. All actions as per COVID-19 protocol are being taken.” An Indian Navy Spokesperson said.
