Singapore Sembawang Shipyard, one of the 5 new identified hotspots

Sembawang shipyard in Singapore has been identified as a new cluster of COVID-19 infection. This is the second such cluster found in the ship repair sector. At least 7 people from Sembawang shipyard have been tested positive for COVID- 19, the Ministry of Health (MOH) sources revealed.

Singapore reported 596 new cases of COVID-19 on April 19 increasing the total number of infections in the country up to 6,588. Out Of the 6,588 COVID- 19 cases to- date in Singapore nearly 4,706 are linked to foreign worker dormitories.

Earlier, Keppel Shipyard reported 2 employed as tested positive. Keppel has placed 100 workers on leave. All of them are under surveillance at their respective residential areas.
