The second Indian Navy ship with 202 people from Maldives reached Cochin

INS Magar under ‘Operation Samudra Setu’ reached Cochin today with 202 Indian. In this week this is the second Indian navy ship carrying Indian from Maldives.

Among the passengers are 91 from Kerala, 83 from Tamil Nadu and 28 belonging to other parts of the country. Last Sunday, Indian Naval ship INS Jalashwa carrying 698 Indian stranded in Maldives reached Cochin. The entire passengers are distributed with BSNL SIM cards and installation of Arogya Setu app in their mobile phones.

“Further evacuations exercise will be continuing next week too,” said Cochin Port Authorities sources. Majority of the passengers coming via ship from Maldives are migrant laborers.
